Canada Numismatics Verification Registry

Certificate of Provenance. Not a grade.

CanadaNVR maintains an independent registry of coin authentication and provenance records. Each submission is examined, photo-matched against the item of record, and issued a permanent certificate — logged to a tamper-evident register and verifiable at any time by certificate number. No account required. No revisions after issuance.

New coin submissions are temporarily paused while we catch up on processing. Already hold a certificate? Transfer ownership is available now.

What Provenance Means

A provenance record documents that a specific coin was examined on a specific date, that the photographs and notes on file match the item, and that nothing in that file has changed since. It isn't a score, and it isn't a claim about value — just a plain, dependable record you or a future buyer can check for yourselves, whenever you need to.

How it works

1

Submit

Send your coin in, or bring it in person. We photograph it under controlled lighting from every angle that matters.

2

Authenticate & Document

We verify authenticity and build a full record: photos, identifying marks, notable characteristics, and the date of verification.

3

Certificate & Registry Entry

Your coin ships back with a certificate and a unique ID. The full record goes live in the registry — checkable by anyone, forever, at canadanvr.ca/verify.

Why buyers stop second-guessing

A seasoned collector who already trusts other grading services still runs the CanadaNVR lookup before closing a purchase — not because our word is needed, but because theirs is. They enter the certificate number and see the same photographs, the same notes, the same verification date on file. Confidence isn't extended here; it's confirmed.

The lookup is built as a working application, not a static page, because a record worth checking should hold up under scrutiny, not just sit on display.

What's in the registry entry

  • Certificate ID + issue date
  • Full photo set from intake
  • Authenticator notes & identifying characteristics
  • Status (on file / reported lost / reported stolen)
  • Tamper-evident record — nothing is edited after issue

Your data, encrypted end to end

Every submission and registry record is encrypted at rest and in transit. Only the details you choose to make part of the public verification record are ever shown to a lookup visitor — your personal information never is.
